Colds tend to go away in 2 weeks or less. Allergies stick around longer. “It’s not going to be 3 days and you’re done,” McMorris says.

Nasal Allergies can hang around for much of the year, especially in the plant-growing months, if you’re allergic to some kind of pollen.

If you have this type of allergy, do away with indoor plants.

Your child could  be allergic to something that is indoors, such as dust mites, pet dander, indoor mold or cockroaches. Those are year-round triggers.

If you or your child are allergic to pollen, you may get a break during the winter cold months, however if you have indoor allergies you may notice symptoms more during the cold weather when you spend time inside.

Make sure you speak with your Doctor if you start noticing any winter symptoms.
